Mexican cinema is featured in the Pueblo Magico of Todos Santos less than one hour from Cabo San Lucas.

Todos Santos Home and Garden Tour
Tour the homes and gardens of several notable homes in this small pueblo. Traditional Mexican homes are usually behind a big fence, so few get to the beauty that lies on the other side. Todos Santos is less than one hour from Cabo San Lucas.

Semana Santa

This is the holy week before Easter. Mexicans from the cities flood the beaches for their spring break. Beaches will be filled with families and singles enjoying the holiday.

Cabo Marine Show

Cabo Marine Show is held annually in the beautiful Marina Golden Zone area of the IGY Marina Cabo San Lucas, in Los Cabos, Mexico. This important annual event is Cabo’s only International Boat Show and Marine Products & Services Expo, attracting hundreds of daily visitors in a spectacular open-air setting, with free admission to the general public. Independence Day
September 16  

This holiday celebrates the day Mexico declared war on the Spanish on September 16, 1810. The celebration starts on September 15, with the President of Mexico, and the mayor of every town in Mexico re-enacting the battle cry heralded by Miguel Hidalgo. The tequila and cerveza is abundant and fireworks light the sky. You can see the action at the town square in San Jose del Cabo and the delegation in Cabo San Lucas on September 15.

Bisbee’s Black and Blue Fishing Tournament

This is Cabo’s biggest fishing tournament, with a jackpot of over $4 million dollars. The boats leave early in the morning and come back in the afternoon with the big catch. Spectators gather around the marina to watch the action and browse the wares of the various vendors and drink cold beer. Sammy Hagar’s Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo, in Cabo San Lucas
Every year Sammy Hagar of Van Halen fame plays a week of FREE concerts at his original Cabo Wabo. There are no advance tickets available for these shows. Revelers must wait in the line for tickets-the line up starts 24 hours before the show, usually 48 for the last show that is on his actual birthday, October 13. During the week he may play unscheduled shows or his friends may come in for surprise concerts. Expect a line. For those that don’t want to wait in line, there are dinner shows, where you can buy tickets for a dinner at Cabo Wabo with admission to the concert. Proceeds go to a local children’s charity. You can find more information at www.redrocker.com/index.php?s=concerts

All Saints Day and Day of the Dead
November 1 - November 2  
Colorful altars for deceased loved ones are embellished with photos, candles and offerings of their favorite food and drink in Plaza Amelia Wilkes in downtown Cabo San Lucas and the Plaza Principal in San Jose del Cabo on the Day of the Dead. The preparation and festivities for the Day of the Dead in begin the night before, on the eve of All Saints Day, November 1.
Baja 1000 off road race
November 20-23  

This annual 4x4 race starts in Ensenada and runs to La Paz, two and one half hours north of Cabo San Lucas. Sometimes the race ends in Los Cabos, creating quite a spectacle!  www.score-international.com/baja1000/index.ihtml

American Thanksgiving

Guadalupe Day
December 12  

Celebrating the patron saint of Mexico. There are processions leading to the church bearing her name in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo the first 12 days of December.

Noche Buena, Christmas Eve
December 24  
Mexican families have the big Christmas feast late at night on December 24, the celebration goes on into the early hours. Some restaurants serve a traditional Christmas dinner.  Early reservations are recommended.
Whale Watching season
December 12  

The annual grey whale migration, which sees these beautiful creatures travel all the way from Alaska to Baja California Sur, start to show theirselves in the waters of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The season continues until about mid March.

Christmas Day
December 25  

Some restaurants serve a traditional Christmas dinner. Early Reservations are recommended.

New Year’s Eve
December 31  
Mexican families gather for family dinners, late in the evening and ring in the New Year. Many restaurants have a gala dinner with champagne toast at midnight and the traditional 12 grapes. Early reservations are recommended. There are also fireworks all around the bay; grab a bottle of bubbly and a blanket and head down to the sand for a quiet evening.
