This holiday celebrates the day Mexico declared war on the Spanish on September 16, 1810. The celebration starts on September 15, with the President of Mexico, and the mayor of every town in Mexico re-enacting the battle cry heralded by Miguel Hidalgo. The tequila and cerveza is abundant and fireworks light the sky. You can see the action at the town square in San Jose del Cabo and the delegation in Cabo San Lucas on September 15. | |

| Bisbee’s Black and Blue Fishing Tournament | |
This is Cabo’s biggest fishing tournament, with a jackpot of over $4 million dollars. The boats leave early in the morning and come back in the afternoon with the big catch. | Sammy Hagar’s Birthday Bash at Cabo Wabo, in Cabo San Lucas | |
| Every year Sammy Hagar of Van Halen fame plays a week of FREE concerts at his original Cabo Wabo. There are no advance tickets available for these shows. Revelers must wait in the line for tickets-the line up starts 24 hours before the show, usually 48 for the last show that is on his actual birthday, October 13. During the week he may play unscheduled shows or his friends may come in for surprise concerts. Expect a line. For those that don’t want to wait in line, there are dinner shows, where you can buy tickets for a dinner at Cabo Wabo with admission to the concert. Proceeds go to a local children’s charity.
